On February 25, 2022, Cooperages 1912’s domestic stave mills and cooperage achieved certification to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI). Now, all TW Boswell and World Cooperage American oak barrels will be certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Fiber Sourcing Standard.
Summer 2021 will mark the fifth year of Cooperages 1912’s scholarship donation to the Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State University. Cooperages 1912 has donated $10,000 per year for the past five years to the Wine Industry Scholars Program (WISP), which began in 2017.
Elizabeth Van Emst, general manager of Cooperages 1912 Napa, said, “We have historically supported the education of Cal Poly students by donating barrels as well as consulting on barrel experiments with our Director of Research David Llodra. The new winery will allow us to contribute to these future winemakers’ education on a much larger scale.
Cooperages 1912 is expanding their World Cooperage Profile Series with the Impression barrel. Impression is the fourth barrel to be launched in the series utilizing infrared toasting technology.
